April: March was rough. February is the shortest month and it lingered. The long winter seemed to keep a solid grip on Lil LA. We at man Up couldn't let the chill stall progress. With perseverance, determination and willpower man Up pushed through the muck to debut in March. We are grateful for all of you that breezed through to take a gander at our little project from the basement. Thank you for finding us again, Franklin G. Pepper

Old Town Jazz
I saw a sign in the basement of the Arts and Sciences building on the campus of Lansing Community College. I immediately recognized one of the faces on the poster that was attached to the corkboard. It was Ed Fedewa an upright bass player for the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. I had interviewed him a couple of months ago however I have never heard him play. Then while checking out the details I recognized another face. It was that of Dennis Therrian. He is a keyboardist that I knew from my past acting days. He had written scores for movies that were made by a company I had done some acting for. I have only heard his synthesized musical scores. It was good stuff but it was not live jazz. I pulled out my cellular phone and used the camera feature to take a freeze frame of the pertinent information so that I could make the show that following Sunday. Read more...
