This Governor Rick Snyder thing has got a lot of people riled. The emergency financial manager bill has been signed into law by Governor Snyder on Wednesday 16 March 2011. The cities that are under current scrutiny are Ecorse, Highland Park and Pontiac.

What I did not know is that there have been 65 people trained as emergency financial managers and that the state is prepared to train 150 more. Does the governor believe that there is a probability – not possibility – of needing to take over 215 situations that would include cities, municipalities and school districts? Furthermore who is training these individuals? Who is setting the standard of qualification? What happens once an emergency financial manager succeeds in the task of bringing a blighted area into the black, will they relinquish it back to its original form?
No wonder people are taking over the Capitol lawn. No wonder school kids are taking a day off from school to help the voting people protest. Okay maybe they are in it just to get out of school for a day. What good is it for Michael Moore to have bus loads of people come to the middle of the mitten? The bill was presented. The bill was voted on and passed by Michigan legislature. The bill was signed into law by the nerd.

My neighbor, Clark, who went to the rally on Wednesday evening on the 16th of March, 2011 said that he was glad that he was there. He said that Mayor Virg Benero had a moving speech, but it was like preaching to the choir. And that statement caused me to pause. What good does a rally do if the only people that hear you are the people that believe what you believe? If this does not get heard by those that disagree with you is this time wasted?

Thousands of people have descended upon the capitol to protest the plan of action and no one in power was swayed, at least not in a manner that affected change. It seems to me that apathy has gotten the best of Middle American Michiganders. My observation is that instead of majority rule, control has shifted to the vocal and extremely active minority. This active minority seem to have a lot of financial backing as well. C. R. E. A. M. – Cash Rules Everything Around Me, get the money. That’s some Wu-Tang knowledge from 1993. Are you selling out or buying in? [Lennerd Dionysos Spearchucker] This was on a Wednesday. Where was all this rabble-rousing on a certain Tuesday? My guess most were probably sitting at home whinning about why bother voting for the lesser of two evils. Oh to never hear that again. *sigh*
